What is Gynecomastia Surgery?

  • When males have excessive breast tissue then the medical condition is called gynecomastia or known as man boobs. Surgeons employ various methods based on its severity, or stage as often used in classification. They make decisions according to the existence and severity of tissue and the disturbance level of the patient.
  • Surgery is when the gynecomastia is affecting the patient’s mental health and physical well-being. The surgery aims to excise more glandular tissue and to slim the chest to look as normal as it can.
  • For, instance, there are surgical procedures of mastectomy, liposuction or both. For really bad cases, they might recommend reducing mammoplasty. This surgery is best for stage III gynecomastia and worse when there is a lot of glandular tissue and the surgeon is skilled enough.
  • If there’s too much skin, they might do skin reduction or mastectomy with nipple repositioning. Surgeons also use techniques to make scars look better after surgery. Liposuction can remove glandular tissue without extra cuts, but it might not help with excess skin.

Gynecomastia

In India, one of the major issues that many young men are likely to encounter is a condition known as gynecomastia, which causes their chest to resemble that of a female. This tends to occur if one has too much breast tissue.

This can be as a result of fluctuating female hormone levels or through the use of steroids. For this reason, some of the men opt to get surgery done. The surgery is done by a plastic surgeon who removes the excess tissues and skin of the breast. You most likely have questions about this surgery and its risks, the procedure itself, potential complications, or costs and the best surgeons; please continue reading.

The Kalosa Clinic in Kanpur will offer treatment for those in need of undergoing gynecomastia, from the professional surgeon, Dr Ashish Khare. He possesses over ten years of work experience in the field of plastic surgery. Everyone is aware of his wonderful job and he always aims to make his surgeries affordable for everyone.

  • To fix persistent man boobs, surgery is needed. This involves removing fatty tissue using liposuction and/or cutting out the gland causing the problem.
  • Usually, this surgery is done as an outpatient, meaning you don’t need to stay overnight in the hospital. It is often done using local anaesthesia.
  • First, the area is numbed with anaesthesia. Then, the fatty tissue is sucked out using liposuction. This method doesn’t leave big scars and works well for most cases, except for those happening after teenage years.
  • If there is still too much gland left after removing fat, it is taken out through a small cut below the nipple.
  • The goal is to make the chest look even, without any lumps or dents. In severe cases, where there is a lot of extra skin, more intense surgery might be needed, which can leave scars.
  • In the case of an injury, it is surgically treated, and the cut is sutured afterwards. It normally does not stand out for two reasons; it is located where the dark skin of the nipple joins the lighter skin of the chest area. The patient must then wear tight clothing for the next twenty days to benefit from the application.

Surgery to fix man boobs has proved to be of great help both to the physical and the psychological aspect of a man. According to Stephanie W Holzmer, the majority of the respondents, who undergo this procedure, are indeed happy with the outcome, with the satisfaction levels ranging between 84. 5% to 100%.

Here are the good things about the surgery:

  • Looks Better: Having big breasts can make guys feel awkward, especially when swimming or working out. Surgery can make the chest look more manly and balanced.
  • Feels Better About Yourself: Lots of guys who get this surgery feel better about themselves and more confident. Taking away extra breast tissue can help them feel sure of themselves and happier in their skin.

Feels More Comfortable: Having large breasts may lead to cases such as rubbing or irritation down there. These issues can be corrected by surgery and make the body feel more comfortable in general.

What are the expenses for Gynecomastia Surgery in Kanpur ?

The price for gynecomastia surgery in Kanpur changes with the choice of treatment that the patient makes. However if someone likes to have liposuction or how many grams of fat are needed to be removed from the chest, the price can differ depending on one’s choice.

However, if they have a mastectomy, it can be more expensive. There are a few things that affect how much the surgery costs:

  • The type of surgery and anaesthesia chosen by the patient.
  • The fees charged by the clinic and the consulting surgeon.
  • The professional charges of the surgeon.
  • The use of specific equipment by the surgeon in the clinic, such as VASER and Microaire.

Things to follow after Gynecomastia Surgery

  • Compression Garment: After the surgery, you will need to wear a tight garment for 20 days straight. This helps stop bleeding and reduce swelling.
  • Follow-up Appointment: You will need to come back for a check-up within a week. Some stitches might be taken out then. You will start to see your chest looking manlier by this point, but it will still be a bit swollen.
  • Avoiding Scars: It takes a few months for your skin to fully heal, but usually, you won’t need any extra surgery to remove scars.

Take it Easy: Right after the surgery, avoid doing any intense physical activities. Stick to gentle walks until you are fully healed.

Dr. Ashish Khare is undoubtedly the best cosmetic and plastic surgeon in Gurgaon. I had a head injury with a skull deep cut on my forehead. I was scared that the sutures will leave a lifelong scar. Dr. Khare did the procedure so patiently and kept motivating me positively that there will be a very light scar and I need not worry about it. Its been a while since I got the sutures and the scar is hardly visible. His staff was also very warm and supportive and his clinic is clean and well equipped with all latest amenities. He is definitely your go to person for any plastic or cosmetic surgery. Thankyou once again Dr Khare.

“I do not like my nose and i want a nose job done.” Our adult but also a teenager son sprang a surprise on us. We tried our best to convince him that his nose was close to perfect and he didn’t need any surgery. Besides, the after effects of any surgery would be long lasting and sometimes permanent. But he was insistent since he had done a lot of online research on this topic. He felt that he had lost his confidence as he hated his nose and surgery was the only option to regain his lost confidence. We approached Dr.Khare with this issue and shared our son’s pics with him. After seeing his pics, he acted very maturely and understood that the issue with our son was a psychological one – effect of hardly any face to face interactions with people due to 2.5 years of Corona. He acted more like a psychologist and explained to our son in detail about different types of noses, who went for a surgery and why, clearly highlighting the long term effects of a surgery. He also gave personal tips on how to boost confidence by making new friends, developing new hobbies etc. Many times plastic surgeons have to be psychologists, as certain unnoticeable issues with a person’s face that he/she personally dislike are an offshoot of their mind which doesn’t require any surgery or correction. Many plastic surgeons don’t even bother to talk out a young teenager/adult from surgery as it is a part of their business. But definitely not Dr. Khare. After one meeting with him, our son was convinced that he did not need a surgery. Had he been a totally money minded surgeon, he would have convinced our son otherwise. Can’t comment on Dr. Khare's surgical competences ( am sure he would be good at that too ) as have not experienced it, but highly recommend him for his understanding levels and maturity.
